BASIC SOFTBALL INFORMATION:
FwF is an adult 18+, social, coed league!

• Sunday SPRING 2025 – registration is CLOSED!
  Games take place beginning on March 16, 2025
• Sunday SUMMER 2025 – registration is OPEN!
  Games will tentatively take place beginning on June 22, 2025
• Sunday Location: West Hills/John Bynon Park, which is located across the street from West Hills Elementary school off of Sheffield Dr. SCROLL DOWN TO SEE A MAP OF WHERE TO PARK AND PLAY!.
• SAVE $10 by registering 2 weeks before gameday. Discount automatically applied at checkout (details below).
• Games last roughly an hour. We will work with your schedules! Just send us your request prior to the schedule releasing.

For our Sunday league, we will work around kickball schedules the best we can, in case you wish to play both leagues. We MUST be told what Sunday Kickball teams you have players on before the schedule is created to do this. However, there may be the rare schedule conflict. Please have your captain inform us of players who participate in both by emailing sports@fwfknoxville.com OR telling our commissioner Sarah.

HOW TO REGISTER:

• First you need an account on the website. Click the “REGISTRATION” tab above to officially register on our site. NOTE: usernames must be all lowercase, no special characters.
  If you have already registered once before, then just log-in if you aren’t already.
• After you complete this step then click on the “MAKE PAYMENT” tab and complete check-out.
  NOTE: you are not registered to play on a team until you submit payment.
  Registering on the site only creates an account on here. Make sure payment is submitted!
• NEED A TEAM? Sign on as a free agent or with a friend!
  All free agents get placed. Join with a friend by adding their name when prompted.
• EARLY REGISTRATION INCENTIVE is $45 per person for 8 games total of play in the league.
  WINTER SEASON ONLY – $40 for 7 games total of play.
  Pay 2 weeks before gameday (Saturday at 11:59PM) to save! Discount is auto-applied at check-out, no code needed!
  
• REGULAR REGISTRATION COST is $55 per person.
  REGULAR COST IS $50 IN WINTER SEASON.
• We ask that team captains register a NEW team first. All other players will select the team name from the drop-down. Please allow up to 48 hours for site updates. NOTE: you must have at least 80% of the required players needed to start a team (at least 10 players). Otherwise, you’ll need to go into free agency together instead.
• Team captains choose the team colors.

LEAGUE INFO & RULES:

• SOFTBALL RULES: FwF-Coed-Softball-Rules-2023-Update

• APPROVED MEN’S BATS:
  MensApprovedBats

• Balls are provided by the league. We use 44/375 12″ softballs. The league will also have a few bats and other select items to borrow for the game. See the umpire if you need to borrow a bat, glove, etc.

• 12 players per team minimum required (no maximum). With at least 3 being females. 
• IMPORTANT: IF YOU DO NOT MEET THE MINIMUM AMOUNT OF
  REQUIRED ROSTER PLAYERS, YOUR TEAM CAN’T HAVE SUBS AND WILL TAKE A FORFEIT UNTIL YOUR TEAM HAS 12 REGISTERED PLAYERS. The week 1 forfeit will go into effect Saturday at midnight before the first game. Then will proceed every week the same way until you meet the minimum.
• 3 females must take the field and bat. Otherwise, the team must play short in the field & take an out at bat for each missing.
• The only gender requirement is on the females. There is no other gender requirement for a team.
• You can’t substitute missing players if your team roster doesn’t meet the minimum requirements (12 minimum with 3 female minimum). Once your team roster reflects the minimum, you may obtain substitute players as needed until playoffs.
• Every player on the team gets playing time at every game they show up for. All players present are required to hit but can choose not to field if their team has enough. If they want to field, they must be allowed to play. A captain can’t bench you, report them if they attempt to. 
• Free Agents will not be assigned until 5-7 days prior to the season starting OR upon captain’s request.
• You will get a minimum of 8 games guaranteed. This time-frame includes a playoff week to determine the champ!

THINGS YOUR TEAM WILL NEED:

• Matching shirt colors and team bats. If you choose a FwF Softball shirt at check-out and don’t know your team color, just leave the color choice blank or select a random one. It will revert to your team color automatically.
• You will need a glove.
• Outside of that, everything else is optional and up to you!
• Cleats are highly recommended but not required. We do sometimes play when the ground is wet.

PLAYOFFS

• Top ranked teams make the Golden Glove Division playoffs. The rest of the teams make the Beer Cup Division.
• With that stated, there can be 2 weeks of playoffs. Top number of teams will vary depending upon total number of teams registered. If we have 9 teams or less, all will play in the Golden Glove. If we have 12 teams or less, top 6 will play in Golden Glove and bottom 6 will play in Beer Cup. If we have more than 12 teams, top 8 will play in Golden Glove.
• Final regular season standing will determine who you play in playoffs and which division you qualify for. This playoff schedule will release the week before playoffs.

AWARD:

• Both division champs will each get a picture with their dedicated divisions trophy AND their team name added.
• Golden Glove winning team members only will additionally get FwF championship medals OR an option from our Winner’s Circle “shop”. This shop is located under the “info” tab above. If you take the medal after the championship game, that is your award and redemption.
