Softball League (Info/How To Register)

BASIC SOFTBALL INFORMATION:
FwF is an adult, coed league and anyone 18+ can play! We have two separate leagues.

  • Sunday SUMMER softballregistration is OPEN!
    Games take place beginning on June 23, 2024 – typically 11AM or later.
    West Hills/John Bynon Park, which is located across the street from West Hills Elementary school off of Sheffield Dr.
    Sunday is our true social league. If you have never played softball/baseball before, we encourage trying Sunday first.
  • Monday TBD (8 teams MAX) games take place beginning on TBD 2024 – typically 6:30PM or later.
    Monday is slightly more competitive, as we do allow everyone to use composite bats and some of the rules will vary from Sunday. Due to this, a safety net (provided by the league) or a safety mask (player provided) is required for the pitcher.
  • Register prior to 1 week before games begin to save $10 (details below).
  • Games last roughly an hour.
  • We will work with your schedules! Just send us your request prior to the schedule releasing.
  • Sarah Roe is the Sunday commissioner. Gray Taylor is the Monday commissioner.

For Sunday league, we will work around kickball schedules the best we can, in case you wish to play both leagues.
However, there may be the rare schedule conflict.


HOW TO REGISTER:

  • Click the “REGISTRATION” tab above to officially register on our site.
    If you have already registered once before, then just log-in if you aren’t already.
  • After you complete this step then click on the “MAKE PAYMENT” tab and complete check-out.
  • NOTE: you are not registered to play on a team until you submit payment.
    Registering on the site only creates an account on here. Make sure payment is submitted!
  • SIGN ON AS A FREE AGENT OR WITH A FRIEND!
    In the team name field just type “free agent” or “free agent with (name)” to be placed with a friend.
  • EARLY REGISTRATION COST is $45 for 8 games total of play in the league.
    WINTER SEASON ONLY – $40 for 7 games total of play.
    Pay prior to 1 week before games beginning to save!
  • LATE REGISTRATION COST is $55 if registering after the 1 week prior deadline.
    LATE COST IS $50 IN WINTER SEASON.
  • Team captain must register the team first unless you are registering as a free agent (to be placed with a random team).
  • Team captains choose the team colors. Any color you choose will revert to what your captain picked.

NOTE: If you register 1 week or less prior to the season start date, you will get a Royal Frost Late Registration colored shirt.

LEAGUE INFO & RULES:

  • SOFTBALL RULES: FwF-Coed-Softball-Rules-2023-Update

  • APPROVED MEN’S BATS FOR SUNDAY LEAGUE:
    MensApprovedBats

  • Balls are provided by the league. We use 44/375 12″ softballs, except during winter and Monday league. The league will also have a few bats and other select items to borrow for the game. See the umpire if you need to borrow a bat, glove, etc.

  • 12 players per team minimum required (no maximum). With at least 3 being females.
  • 3 females must take the field and bat. Otherwise, the team must play short in the field & take an out at bat for each missing.
  • The only gender requirement is on the females. There is no male requirement for a team.
  • IF YOUR TEAM DOESN’T REGISTER UP TO 12 PLAYERS, YOU WILL RECEIVE FREE AGENTS TO MEET THE REQUIREMENT. Even if you ask us not to. We are sorry but all teams must meet the minimum.
  • You can’t sub missing players if your team roster doesn’t meet the minimum requirements (12 minimum with 3 of each gender minimum). Once your team roster reflects the minimum, you may obtain substitute players as needed until playoffs.
  • Free Agents will not be assigned until 5-7 days prior to the season starting. If you have questions, please reach out!
  • You will get a minimum of 8 games guaranteed. This time-frame includes a playoff week to determine the champ!
  • Top teams make the Golden Glove Division playoffs. The bottom teams making their own division of playoffs (Beer Division). With that stated, there are 2 weeks of playoffs. Top number of teams will vary depending upon total number of teams.

THINGS YOUR TEAM WILL NEED:

  • Matching shirt colors and team bats.
  • You will need a glove.
  • Outside of that, everything else is optional and up to you!
  • Cleats are highly recommended but not required.


AWARD:

  • Winning team gets a picture with the FwF Golden Glove Trophy and their team plaque added to it!
  • Golden Glove winning team members get FwF championship medals OR an option from our Winner’s Circle “shop”.
  • Lower (Beer) Division winners get pictures with and a team plaque added to the FwF Beer Trophy.
